Was passiert mit meinem Hochschul-Passwort?

Sieht meine Hochschule, was ich in UNI-fied mache?

In deiner UNI-fied-Drive.

  • About UNI-fied

Do I need permission from my university?

UNI-fied is independent and not affiliated with any university. You sign in with your own university login. Whether you may use it in an app like this is set by your university's IT usage rules, and some of them restrict passing your password on to third parties, so please check yours. In the iOS and Android apps, your password goes only from your device to your university. In the browser, it passes through our server and, for Moodle, is held in memory for your session, 24 hours at most. It is never written to disk, a database or a log.

Which universities are supported?

Universität Potsdam, Berliner Hochschule für Technik and HTW Berlin are supported today. A new university is added with a profile and a few adapters, so the app itself does not need to be rebuilt. If your university uses Moodle and a documented campus system, let us know and we will look at adding it.

Which devices can I use?

Any device with a modern browser. The web app is live in beta and runs on phones, tablets and desktops. The iOS and Android apps are built from the same codebase and are in testing. They are not yet in the app stores.

What happens to my university password?

It depends on the platform. In the iOS and Android apps, it is stored in the system keystore and goes only from your device to your university. It never reaches our servers. In the browser, it is sent to our server with each request and passed straight on to your university. Some parts of Moodle have no API, so for Moodle the server also holds it in memory for your session, 24 hours at most. It is never written to disk, a database or a log.

Can my university see what I do in UNI-fied?

It sees only the requests it would see if you used Moodle and the campus system yourself. In the browser, those requests reach it from our server rather than from your device. Your notes, Workspace files and community posts are never sent to your university.

Where are my notes and Workspace files stored?

In your UNI-fied Drive, which belongs to your UNI-fied account rather than your university login. They stay there if you disconnect your university or graduate.

Does UNI-fied use AI on my data?

Only if you agree. AI features are off until you give your consent, and you can withdraw it in Settings at any time. They are processed by Google Gemini in the USA. Most of them run on your own API key, directly from your device to Google.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, under Settings → Account. The app shows what will be removed and asks you to confirm. The deletion then takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.

Is UNI-fied open source?

  • No. The source code is private, and there are no current plans to publish it.

How do I contact the team?

Through the Feedback tab in the app. Your message is linked to your account, so we can reply to you directly.
